Customs & duties
Every destination clears imports differently. As a recipient, your main jobs are a correct address, reachable phone, and knowing whether duties were prepaid.
What customs needs
Commercial invoice (description, value, sender/recipient), packing list, and the waybill. Some goods need licences or certificates of origin.
Duty-paid (DDP) vs standard
DDP channels aim to include import charges in what the sender pays, so you are less likely to pay on delivery. Standard channels may collect VAT/duty from the recipient.
If a parcel is held
Carriers or customs may request extra documents or value proof. Share requests quickly with the sender and Jilu support to avoid storage fees or return.
Undervaluation risks
Under-declaring value to reduce duty is illegal and can lead to seizure, fines or bans. Always declare accurately.
